Wajir is a county located in the North Eastern part of Kenya, it is one of the oldest towns in the country.
The name Wajeer is derived from the Borana word meaning come together.
Pastoralists of different clans from the somali ethnic group are the main inhabitants.
The area has mainly hot-arid climate with temperatures of 21- 31 degrees celsius.
